3 Best CBD Oils for Fibromyalgia Treatment (Updated 2019)

Fibromyalgia is the second most common condition affecting your bones and muscles. It’s associated with widespread pain and tenderness over the body. Sometimes you may have two or more chronic pain conditions at the same time.

Fibromyalgia patients not only have to suffer the pain, but they also have to face with other symptoms such as sleep disorder, insomnia, fatigue, mood issues,… This long-lasting disorder is so devastating that there are times simple chores like doing laundry or making breakfast can be exhausting, if not downright impossible.

The bad news is there is no cure for fibromyalgia. However, the good news is CBD has been seen to help control symptoms, mostly focus on pain management, without causing any negative side effect.

For decades, fibromyalgia suffers have been prescribed with medications like painkillers, NSAIDs, or sleep medicine that stop working after time/don't work at all or are too addictive. But not anymore. Testimonials from patients all over the world, plus reliable studies and recommendations from certified physicians have shown that CBD products could be the new promising approach we are looking for.

You can consume CBD in a number of forms – each type benefits yourself in a different way, depending on your condition. Here are the three typical forms of CBD (and the top 3 products) to help you combat against fibromyalgia.

1 Vaping CBD

Vaping CBD

If you want to relieve immediate pain, vaping CBD is one of the most efficient way. By directly inhaling CBD from the cannabis plant, you are going to absorb 90% of the product into the bloodstream and lungs in less than one minute.

Effects can last up to three hours, but it’s likely that a fibromyalgia patient might need to vape several times a day for favorable results. On the other hand, vaping is not always convenient since you will have to carry the vape pens/shots around and do all the charging stuff. Plus, you can only vape in certain places – for example, most employers aren’t very happy to see their employees “get high” at work.

We Recommend: THRIVE Starter Pack from Vape Bright

This is one of the best portable CBD vape kits from Vape Bright . There is no button – all you need to do is inhale and enjoy like many other similar products. The 510 thread battery charges quickly and has long battery life that can give you over 100 inhalations. Recharging takes only 30 minutes, using any USB port. Bonus point: Heavier draws with maximum vapor is available thanks to the 3.2 volt setting (we like this feau.

The draw is clean with sweet berry after notes. Cartridges have no carrier liquids, making this oil even more pure than many of those on our list. These cartridges have a very high amount of pure CBD inside of the oil, making for a very potent experience.

2 CBD Oil Tinctures (Extracts)

CBD Oil Tinctures (Extracts)

CBD oil can be applied topically to reduce inflammation and external pain. It can also be taken orally or dissolved under the tongue.

Of the three techniques, many CBD users recommend the last one (to use the oil via sublingual region) because it takes only 60 to 90 seconds for the CBD to be delivered into the system and effects can last for a long period of time. This technique is also better for patients suffering from digestive issues. However, people who are sensitive to taste might not like the taste of fresh CBD oil.

3 CBD Edibles & Gummies

CBD Edibles & Gummies

Edibles are foods cooked with the cannabis plant, or cannabis-infused oil, butter, candy,... pretty much a lot of things. It will take longer for fibromyalgia suffers to experience the symptom relief, but the effects of edibles can last for up to six hours. This option is perfect for those who can’t vape, hate the taste of CBD oil, or just love to eat.

What you need to know when using CBD as a treatment for fibromyalgia

- Although CBD causes few side effects and all of them are mild and not at all life-threatening, it’s suggested to take CBD the first few times at home when you don’t have to drive, in case you do experience them. Be prepared to expect these common side effects:

  • Dry mouth
  • Slowed digestion
  • Low blood pressure
  • Lightheadedness
  • Drowsiness
  • Hallucinations

- Start with a small dose first – think 5 – 10 mg. Since this is the first time your body get to know CBD, overdose it won’t likely to bring you any miracle, if not cause you to hospitalize. Take some time! You can increase the dose as wanted later on.

- The research involving CBD as a treatment for fibromyalgia is still in its primary stages, which means what works to others patients might not suit you well or can even harm you. It’s important to be careful when adopting new kind of treatment.

- Using CBD alone won’t help you to relieve fibromyalgia’s symptoms. It’s more effective to combine the use of cannabis with lifestyle changes and complementary therapies.

  1. Bebe says

I wonder if CBD edibles or gummies can work on a child with fibromyalgia? My son has been suffering from it and as a mother, I’ll take what I can to help ease his pain. He doesn’t take too kindly to oils and tinctures, ever since he had a bad experience from a “friend” who pressured us into using essential oils on him, triggering an allergic reaction. He might prefer it if it came in the form of a gummy candy, and it might be easier for us to hide it from his doctors. If anybody knows if it can work for a 12 year old boy, I would appreciate any help.
